Discovery of Dreaming Spiders

She feared
the jumping
spiders
were dead
sitting so still
at the top
of their cage.
They are not dead
but only asleep
hanging
by a thread
slightly swaying
lost in sleep
twitching
legs and darting
eyes betraying
dreams unknown
to man.
Some had nightmares
visions of horror
no man
could imagine
but others
others dreamed
of love
the pinpoint
of a brain
the purest light
held inside
a dark furry body
glowing blue
through the night
